Now and again, I’ve thought about starting a blog. In fact, I’ve held onto this domain name itnomad.com for a good 10 years with the thinking that I would. But like many things in life, one’s inner voice gives some good reasons not to. Who would want to read what I write? What would I write about? And more recently, are blogs still relevant in the age of short-form video content like TikTok and Instagram? That’s all really hard to say, but none of that really matters unless you start. So here we are.
Who am I?
I like to think I’m a kind, curious, and empathic person. I’ve been fortunate to have traveled extensively starting in university and have spent significant time in France, Sweden, Malaysia, and the United Kingdom. That changed a bit when I took up a job at a startup in Silicon Valley. The past decade or so has primarily been in Northern California for a startup.
I really enjoy building things and meeting new people. I’m currently (and maybe forever) building a camper van with a few tricks up its sleeve. More on that in future posts. I also enjoy learning about history and why things are the way they are. I feel like the more I travel and learn, the more I realize I don’t know and grow to accept when things happen that don’t make sense to me at first.
Why did I start this Blog?
I have a number of interesting projects that I’m working on, and I figure sharing them here could help others. I don’t expect to make any money but instead to give back to the Internet as it’s given me much of the information I needed over my life. Plus… who knows, maybe it’ll turn into something.
What will I write about?
This may change as time goes on, but I’m thinking somewhere in the following:
- Van Building
- Travel
- Edge Computing / Mobile Technology
- Connectivity
I do have other areas of interest such as food, history, and culture but we’ll see how this fit in.
Why should people read my posts?
I can’t tell you the number of times people said I should write or start a YouTube channel about my ideas, travels, or what I’m working on. Let’s have some fun.
